Bill Gates has his eye on the common toilet

Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft who has morphed into the world's best-known philanthropist, wants to reinvent the toilet.

This next big idea for the good of mankind will now also be getting help from German taxpayers after Development Minister Dirk Niebel earmarked $10 million for a joint project with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Over the next five years, this project aims to provide 800,000 people in Kenya with access to sanitation facilities and ensure clean drinking water for 200,000.

False and misleading advertising is a global phenomenon

Ghana Salt Industry produces between 250,000 to 300,000 tons of salt annually. The salt industries in Ghana have become major foreign exchange earners for the country. Economists in Ghana believe that the industry has the potential to produce 2.2 million tons annually.

The salt is also of good quality. However, the present salt advert on radios in Ghana is irresponsible. The latest salt in the Ghanaian market has a brand name: Chifu Salt. What is frightening is the aggressive marketing of the salt on radio and television to make it seem like harmless no matter which quantity is taken.

Adamus Resources Gets Parliamentary Visit from Australia

Adamus Resources, an Australian mining company based in Ghana has hosted a delegation from the Australian Parliamentary Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade. 

The team, led by Hon. Joel Fitzgibbon MP, visited Ghana and went to the company’s Nzema Gold Project site in south-west Ghana. 

The trip forms part of the Joint Committee’s inquiry into Australia’s relations with Africa in areas including bilateral relations, trade and investment, and diplomacy, and particularly highlighted Australia’s growing engagement with Ghana.
